The History of Abiqua Retreat Vineyard

We have made quality our habit. It’s not something that we just strive for – we live by this principle every day.

Our family farming history dates back to 1965 (San Joaquin Valley and Sacramento Valley) growing cotton, corn, wheat, rice, almonds, etc. In 2006 we decided to semi retire and planted our vineyard here in the Willamette Valley. We are situated along the North bank of the Abiqua Creek in Silverton, OR. All 35 acres of pinot noir grape vines have Riparia Gloire rootstocks and are clones of Pommard and 777. Our soil is valley clay, saturated with river rock and drains very well. Characteristics of the wines produced are consistent from year to year (fruity, earthy, and with subtle maturity)
